Finishing and Bindery
Complete your print pieces with finishing touches that will make a meaningful, lasting impact.
Our advanced, fully-electronic prepress preparation services are the first step in creating a printed reality that matches your vision. Our technicians, each with tremendous color reproduction experience, combine their skills with the latest in technology to ensure a perfect foundation for everything that follows.
We’ll thoroughly inspect your job to eliminate any problems that might occur on-press, such as image resolution, fonts, CMYK images, bleeds, and PMS colors.
The exciting capabilities offered by digital printing can help you see print in a whole new way. With advances in technology you won’t believe it’s digital. The Whitley Group is at the forefront of this technology in both the black and white and full color markets.
Showing our commitment to quality and the best technology available The Whitley Printing Company recently purchased a Kodak Nexpress 2500 Production Press. This new press is equipped with dimensional ink which gives print a raised look and feel and adds a 3D effect quickly and easily! It also comes with a coating system that allows you to varnish and protect your prints.
At no additional cost, The Whitley Group now routinely provides our customers with this advanced screening technique. Resulting in sharper images with finer details, near photographic quality and more vibrant color.
Instead of the conventional screening process that converts tones and images into equally spaced dots of varying sizes (amplitude modulation or AM screening), our high-definition screening process randomly places dots throughout the image surface (frequency modulation or FM screening). Coupled with our straight-to-plate screening capabilities, we can increase the “normal” 175-line resolution to an over 400-line equivalent, allowing us to reproduce extremely fine detail across a broader spectrum of colors.
Getting the ink on the paper is rarely the final step—and the finishing quality often can make or break a printed piece. Finishing includes not only the feel and appearance of the paper surface, but also its final shape (e.g., displays, folding cartons and boxes, tags, labels, greeting cards, special packaging, etc.).
A printed job is not complete until it’s converted to its finished form. This process starts with cutting, including uniquely shaped die cutting and also includes all types of folding, with or without both hot and cold glue.
The Whitley Group offers extensive binding operations, including: perfect binding, saddle stitch, plastic comb, case binding, screw and post, and spiral wire binding.
